Our Background
Viswa Seva Sangha Trust was founded in the early 1980s in the spirit of selfless service, inspired by the Vedantic ideal that service to humanity is service to God.
With its roots in Deogarh, Odisha, the Trust has grown from a small community initiative into a sprawling family of educational and spiritual institutions — each one a testimony to the transformative power of education rooted in values.
Over four decades, we have strived to bring the light of knowledge to underserved communities in rural Odisha — reaching hundreds of villages and touching over a lakh lives through our schools, colleges, vocational centres, yoga academy, and temple activities.

Dr. Prasanta Pradhan
Retired IAS Officer, Founder Patron
Dr. Prasanta Pradhan, a Retired IAS Officer, is the Founder Patron of all the institutions under the Viswa Seva Sangha Trust. He has been practicing Yoga since his college days, beginning in 1973. Throughout his journey, he was closely associated with Satyananda Yoga Vidyalaya, Sambalpur (a branch of the Bihar School of Yoga, Munger), and is a Life Member of the International Divine Life Society, Rishikesh.
He has been spiritually blessed by eminent saints including H.H. Swami Premananda Puriji Maharaj, H.H. Swami Satyananda Saraswati Ji Maharaj, H.H. Swami Chidananda Saraswati Ji Maharaj, and Swami Krishnananda Saraswati Ji Maharaj. His deep spiritual involvement extends to the study groups of Chinmaya Mission, Bhubaneswar, and participation in numerous international and national spiritual conferences.
In the academic world, Dr. Pradhan has served as a Resource Person at the Academic Staff Colleges of Utkal University and Sambalpur University, conducting refresher courses for faculty members. He has also spearheaded numerous seminars in collaboration with both State and Central Government organizations and Public Sector Undertakings. Over the past five decades, his dedication has allowed him to acquire profound knowledge across the paths of Bhakti Yoga, Karma Yoga, Jnana Yoga, and Raja Yoga.
